When I heard my cousin Nereece found this gentleman and that she was so smitten it was hard to believe! But when we met Marus we all knew exactly why she was so inlove. They had known each other for less than 3 months and realised they had found their soul mates and this is how we ended up attending their beautiful wedding. This wedding was particularly special because whenever their eyes locked, they giggled like little teenagers which just showed how inlove they are. I took pictures at a wedding once and the bride and groom looked miles apart... it was the total opposite with these two love birds, they were definitely on the same page :)

Initially I offered to cover Nereece's dressing session but the excitement of her getting married took over and I took pictures of all the proceedings *another cousin loving moment hehehe*

When I though of writing a blog on their wedding, I thought "dorn I dono what to write" but because they have such a wonderful story I had to tell it.

Khanyi & Sibu's Traditional Wedding | 18 December 2012

Khanyi & Sibu celebrated their traditional wedding just outside Qumbu. The amazing thing about traditional weddings is seeing the amount of respect between the two families and the honour that goes with it.

Generally in the Xhosa culture the white wedding comes first and the traditional wedding comes either the next day or within the next week, depending on the family. Khanyi & Sibu had their white wedding a few days before. I've covered 3 traditional weddings prior to this particular one and every one of them were different, this one stood out for me. From the moment I saw Khanyi she was relaxed and when she walked out of the house where Sibu "fetched" her from, there was this instant glow on both of their faces when they saw each other. Too often the bride lets her nervous get to her and she freezes, not in this case, Khanyi was right at home.

Unfortunately I never got to spend much time with the couple before or after their wedding but I would like to wish them a happy 6 month anniversary and may they continue to be as happy as they were on their big day :)

Tashe & Termaine | 11 May 2013

There's something special about covering a matric farewell, taking pictures of matriculants with huge smiles on their faces but with racing hearts. I've done quite a few pre-ball shoots & this one was different, firstly because it was twins, secondly because their family came together to show their love for Tashe & Termaine. The two ladies looked stunning & always had a smile on their faces.

All the best for the remainder of your matric year... have a blast but study hard & make everyone proud :)

Felix & Linda's Wedding | 6 April 2013

I've done several weddings which were referred to me from Adiel at Umvini Florist in Mthatha, this being one of them. Linda's first words to me as she walked in "Thank God my photographer is a lady, I was so worried" I've noticed that a lot though with my brides (and some of my grooms) they always want to know if I'll be covering the bride's dressing session because they refuse to have a man come into the room. I share the sentiments though on that... for when I do get married hahaha.

Linda and Felix were both one of the most relaxed couples I've photographed, they were simple but all they asked for was beautiful memories and they told me to do whatever I want, they'll follow my instructions. This wedding did however teach me a lot about controlling a huge group of people, there were many, MANY people at this wedding. But all is well that ends well... Luncedo & Pumeza's Wedding | 21 March 2013

Pumeza was my second glowing pregnant bride. I hadn't met Pumeza or Luncedo prior to their big day so I wasn't aware that she was pregnant, nevertheless it gave us a few extra pictures which we could take focusing a bit on her tummy.

What stood out for me at this wedding was the programs on the tables, each one had a word representing a relationship on it... there was "Loyalty", "Honesty", "Love", "Respect" & many others. It was unique coz it reminded everyone of the qualities each relationship should have. The reception took place at Khanyisa High School's Hall (Behind Ultra City in Mthatha) where we could take pictures in the little garden just infront of the hall.

I'd like to wish both Pumeza and Luncedo a fruitful marriage and lots of fun times with their soon to be born little precious baby.
